Nas “Hope” [HT-Remix]

December 9, 2006

Someone emailed me a Acappella of Nas’s song “Hope” and I had this sick beat laying around in my HDD doing nothing so I thought I would blend it, tell me what you think.

PS: I’m a amateur.

Da Headlinez [12.08.06]

December 9, 2006

A lot of news updates, lets start with Clipse call Lil’Wayne a FAG

Damon Dash is going to be starting how own style of MySpace, specifically concentrating on the Urban Market, called blocksavvy.com “Blocksavvy is the best and most efficient way for brands and consumers alike to have a mutually beneficial experience online,” said Dash.

Lil Wayne had the streets in confusion, after sending shots at Jay-Z, reading between the lines I would say the real reason is because Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam passed on him… He didnt get signed.

Weekly Verses: Blackstar, Beat Street

December 4, 2006

A newspaper burns in the sand, and the headlines say ‘Man destroys Man!’
Extra! Extra! Read all the bad news on the war for peace that everybody would lose
The rise and fall, the last great empire, the sound of the whole world caught on fire

The ruthless struggle, the desperate gamble
The game that left the whole world in shambles
The cheats, the lies, the alibis
And the foolish attempt to conquer the skies
Lost in space, and what is it worth, huh?
The president just forgot about Earth
Spending multi billions, and maybe even trillions
The cost of weapons ran into zillions
There’s gold in the street, and diamonds under feet
And the children in Africa don’t even eat
Flies on their faces, they’re living like mice
And the houses even make the ghetto look nice, Huh!
The water tastes funny, it’s forever too sunny
And they work all month and don’t make no money
A fight for power, a nuclear shower
And people shout out in the darkest hour
Of sights unseen and voices unheard
And finally the bomb gets the last word
Christians killed Muslims, and Germans killed Jews
And everybody’s bodies are used and abused, Huh!
Minds are poisoned and souls are polluted
Superiority complex is deep rooted
Leeches and lice’s, and people got prices
Egomaniacs control the self-righteous
Nothing is sacred and nothing is pure
So the revelation of death is our cure
Hitler and Caesar, Custer and Reagan
Napoleon, Castro, Mussolini and Begin
Ghengis Khan and the Shah of Iran
Mixed with the blood of the weaker man
The peoples in terror, the leaders made the error
And now they can’t even look in the mirror
‘Cause we gotta suffer while things get rougher
And that’s the reason why we got to get tougher
To learn from the past and work for the future
And don’t be a slave to no computer
‘Cause the Children of Man inherits the land
And the future of the world is in your hands
So just throw your hands in the air
And wave ‘em like you just don’t care
And if you believe that you’re the future
Scream it out and say ‘Oh yeah!’ (‘Oh yeah!’)
‘Oh yeah!’ (‘Oh yeah!’)
Raah!

Monthly Underground: Blakstone – Apologies

December 1, 2006

Download: Blakstone – Apologies

Blakstones Music is a sound born out of provocation due the unprecedented suffering of our people (be it in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Kosovo, Bosnia, Darfur, Gujarat, Kashmir, Angola, Rawanda etc) as well as the continuous subjugation of the impoverished of this earth at the hands of capitalism due to western foreign policy and eastern home-grown treachery.

Weekly Verses: Public Enemy, Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos

November 14, 2006

“I got a letter from the government
The other day
I opened and read it
It said they were suckers
They wanted me for their army or whatever
Picture me given’ a damn – I said never
Here is a land that never gave a damn
About a brother like me and myself
Because they never did
I wasn’t wit’ it, but just that very minute…
It occured to me
The suckers had authority
Cold sweatin’ as I dwell in my cell
How long has it been?
They got me sittin’ in the state pen
I gotta get out – but that thought was thought before
I contemplated a plan on the cell floor
I’m not a fugitive on the run
But a brother like me begun – to be another one
Public enemy servin’ time – they drew the line y’all
To criticize me some crime – never the less
They could not understand that I’m a Black man
And I could never be a veteran
On the strength, the situation’s unreal
I got a raw deal, so I’m goin’ for the steel”
