Lupe Fiasco Sets Sights On Pink Floyd For New CD

December 12, 2006

Having worked with Jay-Z, Kanye West and Jill Scott on his debut 1st & 15th/Atlantic album, rapper Lupe Fiasco is setting his sights on a mythic band for a collaboration on his next project, the follow-up to this year’s acclaimed “Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor.”

“I got my wish list on my last album so I made this one unattainable,” he tells Billboard.com. “Now I want to work with Pink Floyd, or the remnants of Pink Floyd.” Fiasco knows the prospect of getting the legendary British rockers to sign off on such an idea is remote, but that isn’t stopping him from pressing forward.

After all, he got jazz pianist Chick Corea to allow a sample from his group Return To Forever for the “Food & Liquor” track “American Terrorist” after Corea initially said no.
